This day has been a long time coming with many ups and downs and a lot of uncertainties.  I have discovered that retirement is not a thing but rather a process.  As one prepares for retirement the most often asked question is, “so, when do you plan to retire?”  This is a difficult question to answer because you really will not know until you know.  There are stages to proceed through on one’s way to retirement and one of the final stages is knowing that you are at the place when it is time to start winding down.  As one begins to wind down, you find that many questions start to be answered, questions that have been in the contemplation phase for many years.  Where will I live?  Will I have enough money to live on?  What will I do with my time?  I would say that my process of retirement has been thirty  five years in the making and the good people whom I hold dear in my life can attest to this for they have been a huge part of the process.  Well Retirement, I have arrived, here I am.  So to all the dear people who have helped me get this far in life, I am not done.  Come along and travel with me on the next stage of my life journey.
